A hand therapist or CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) offers the assurance that the highest level of competency will be used in diagnosing, evaluating, treating and rehabilitating hand problems or dysfunctions. Plaza Physical Therapy has the most experienced staff of hand therapists in the Quad Cities. A certified hand therapist is an occupational or physical therapist who has a minimum of five years of clinical experience, including 2,000 hours or more in direct practice of hand therapy. In addition, the CHT must successfully pass a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper extremity rehabilitation. A CHT is part of an exceptional group of therapists who have demonstrated their professional commitment to excellence.

Our highly skilled hand therapists work closely with the referring physician and the patient to provide an individualized treatment plan often starting within days of injury or surgery and progressing through the patient’s rehabilitation. This continuum of care eliminates the need for multiple medical providers and duplicated care, resulting in decreased recovery time and decreased medical costs.
