Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN)

Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN)

A Therapeutic Technique for Pain Relief

The dry needling technique is a safe and effective treatment that involves multiple advances of a small filament needle into a muscle. This aims to decrease pain which may be caused by a trigger point in that muscle. There is no injection of solution or medication, and the needle is typically very thin. Most patients don’t feel anything. Others feel only mild discomfort. This technique helps to decrease muscle contracture, reduce chemical irritation, improve flexibility, and reduce pain. This technique is used to treat conditions such as arthritis, nerve irritation, muscular strain, ligament strains, and herniated discs.
